ABOUT ME!
From Landlocked to Liveaboard
I'm David and for over 40 years I had a dream, one that I thought would never come true. For me that dream was to own a sailing yacht and sail across the Atlantic.
But like most people a young family and a career got in the way of being able to achieve that dream. For me, that was two kids and a career as a radio presenter on various UK commercial radio stations.
Now, the Children are all grown up and making their own way in life I decided to hang-up the radio microphone and buy a sailboat to finally achieve my dream.
I created Sailing Madness to show the real side of boat life - not just the sunsets and calm seas, but the challenges, repairs, and personal growth that come with it. I hope to inspire others who are curious about cruising to just go for it - even if they’ve never set foot on a boat before.
And now cruising is turning into the journey of a lifetime and capturing every moment has become a full-time occupation, one that enables me to take others along for the ride and hopefully one that inspires them to follow their dreams.
